Python Job: Data Scientist Finance

your activities

As a data scientist in finance, you will be working on various (financial) analyses within our Finance department, focusing on value creation. You apply advanced analytics techniques and make optimal use of business intelligence. When we zoom in on your activities, it will consist of, among others:

• analyzing financial results - by performing driver analyses, identifying trends, and creating financial models for decision-making;

• modeling of financial forecasting;

• you deliver actionable insights based on both financial and non-financial data, where machine learning may be applied;

• you think about your development and follow the training and education you need to be your best self;

• you actively engage with your stakeholders to define and scope your work. You know better than anyone how important it is to maintain your internal and external network (including management, finance, and other analytics departments but also external finance and analytics networks).

who and where will you be working with?

Our finance department comprises approximately 50 finance professionals, split into different teams. The different teams work closely together to achieve the best possible results.

As a data scientist in finance, you will be working in the Finance Analytics team. With Finance Analytics, the finance department wants to give more attention to developments in big data and advanced analytics. This vision fits seamlessly with data as a strategic pillar in Randstad's global strategy.

about you

Besides the fact that we find it very important that you are highly analytical and your completed university education is also proof of this, we would like to see several years of work experience in finance, business analysis, or data science.

Furthermore:

• you can distinguish complex relations between numbers and activities;

• you have an affinity with finance analytics, demonstrated for example by a degree in econometrics or business analytics, or specific work experience;

• you have persuasive powers and strong communication skills;

• you can use business intelligence and analytics to solve complex problems;

• you have experience with programming (Python and SQL);

• you have experience with BI tooling (e.g. Tableau or MicroStrategy);

• experience with cloud services such as AWS is a strong plus;

• experience with data analytics software such as KNIME or Alteryx is a strong plus.

The position is for 40 hours and the work location is our headquarters in Diemen.
